How To Get Your Website Listed in Bing

How to Get Listed in Bing

Hi Tony here. Quick video for you about getting your website listed in Bing UK.

Whilst most small businesses will concentrate on their google listings they will often overlook Bing.

The reason that you should get listed in Bing is because Microsoft own Bing & it is used by Yahoo amongst others  for their search results & between them they get somewhere between 20 – 30% of searches so it is definitely worth getting listed there.

So, here we are at the bingforbusiness.com website & you can see the first option here is to update or add your business details & the second option is to Register your website with Bing.

First Update Your Business Details in Bing

So, let’s first update our business details. To do this click on request form online & you are taken to another page where you need to click on Search to get started.

On the next page enter your postcode & fill in the captcha to see if you are listed.

You are then presented with a list of companies at that postcode & if you are not listed you just need to go down to where it says “Can’t find your business” & click on the link & you’ll be taken to a page where you can submit your details.

Once you have submitted them you will be phoned on the number you provided & then your listing will be approved.

Next, Submit Your Site to Bing

Once you have done that you can then submit your site to Bing. Just click on option 2 “Register your website with Bing” & you’ll be taken to this page. Then under Key Resources select the option “Submit your Site to Bing” & you’ll be taken to this page.

Once you have been submitted you’ll then be asked to sign up to Bing Webmaster Tools. We’ll cover that in another video, but for now you don’t have to sign up.

I hope that was useful. As I say, if you are not listed in Bing UK then you are potentially missing out on 20 – 30% of all online searches & as this is really easy to do it makes sense.
