An “A” record, also called an “address” record, ties a domain name to an IP address. If there is a server on the Internet that is configured to handle traffic for this domain, you can enter the name of the domain (like www.yourdomain.com) and the IP address of the server (like “208.95.05.239″), and almost immediately, anyone surfing to that domain connects to the correct server.

- You need to order a transfer service from us (and any additional service eg: hosting ) at http://www.pickaweb.co.uk/placeorder.htm
- We will email you a transfer request which you need to approve.
- You need to make sure that you are the admin email contact for your domain name because you need to approve that transfer request. You can verify who is the admin email is by doing a WHOIS SEARCH
- If you are not the admin email contact for the domain name you will need to contact the company you registered the domain name with and request the change of that email address. We cannot email the request to any other email address other than the admin email contact as this is a security measure for domain name owners.
- Wtih .com, .net and .org transfers you will now require Authorization Codes. In the auth code field of the transfer request form insert RRP (must be all upper case) as the Auth Code. If this does not work, then the Domain Owner must contact the current registrar for the Auth Code.

- Your previous registrar has the name locked for either non-payment, or at your request.
- The domain has already passed its expiration date or is about to expire within 20 days.
- You do not have access to the registered Admin Contact E-mail for your domain, or the person listed on your domain’s Admin Contact email doesn’t approve the transfer within 5 days after initial transfer request.

If you have a UK domain name (.co.uk, .org.uk) registered through another company you can transfer your domain name to Pickaweb by contacting the company where you registered your domain name. The transfer to Pickaweb is FREE although you should check with your current domain name company if they charge any release fees.
