Here’s how to find it in cPanel:

  1. Log in to your cPanel interface.

Which Softaculous Script is Right for you?

  5. Click any logo to view/rate a script.

Go back to Softaculous and click any title in the left navigation menu. It will take you to the category view, where you can see the comparison of multiple scripts side by side and check the ratings each of them has got from users so as to choose the right one. Further, if you click a title in the comparison list, you’ll be taken to the overview page of that particular software application and view the description, version etc.

List scripts installed by Softaculous

Import Script to Softaculous

If you have a script already installed through another auto-installer or manually, you don’t need to install it again when using Softaculous. All you need to do is simply import that particular script and it can be easily managed by Softaculous. You can accomplish this import task from within the cPanel of your website.

Here’s how to do it –

  1. Log in to your cPanel.
  2. Go to the Software/Services section.
  3. Click on the Softaculous icon.
  4. Go to the script you want to import (e.g.-  WordPress).
  5. Click on the Import tab.
  6. Select the domain for which you want the script imported.
  7. Enter the directory name where the script is already installed.
  8. Click the Import button.

In a moment, you’ll receive a confirmation message that the script has been successfully imported.

Upgrade a script in Softaculous

When managing multiple scripts installed by Softaculous, it’s also important to keep all of them up-to-date. New versions of software applications always do a great job of boosting the security of your website and keeping bugs away. From within your cPanel of your website, you can easily upgrade any script installed by Softaculous in a few clicks.

Follow these steps to upgrade a script –

  1. Log in to your cPanel.
  2. Navigate to the Software/Services section.
  3. Click-open Softaculous.
  4. Click on the List icon at the top.
  5. Look for the upgrade icon against each of the installed scripts – two curved arrows turning clockwise.
  6. Click the icon, against a script that needs to be upgraded, to begin.
  7. Finally, click the Upgrade button.

In a moment, you’ll receive a confirmation message that the software or the script was successfully upgraded.

Install a Script

Softaculous offers you a host of scripts to install, from within cPanel. Whether you want to install a blog, a CMS, a portal, a forum or an e-commerce software, you can get it all done automatically via Softaculous. Once you’ve purchased the license for Softaculous, you’ll find this application under the Software/Services section of the cPanel.

Here’s how to install a script using Softaculous –

  1. Log in to your cPanel.
  2. Navigate to the Software/Services section.
  3. Click on the Softaculous icon.
  4. Click Textpatten (for example) under Blogs in left navigation.
  5. Click on the Features tab to check out features of Textpattern.
  6. Click on the Demo tab to understand installation process.
  7. Click on the Ratings and Reviews tab for more information.
  8. Click on the Install tab.
  9. Select the domain for which you want to install a script.
  10. Set the site name and description.
  11. Enter admin password, email and a real name.
  12. Click the Install button.

In a moment, you’ll receive a congratulation message that you’ve installed the software application successfully.

[Note: If you have the script already installed via another auto-installer or manually, you can simply import that particular script so that it can be managed by Softaculous.]

Remove a script

Softaculous allows you to automatically install a number of scripts as per your specific requirements. But it also offers you easy management options. For example, if you don’t want any particular script any more, you can remove them from your cPanel.

Here’s how to remove a script installed by Softaculous –

  1. Log in to your cPanel interface.
  2. Navigate to the Software/Services section.
  3. Click-open Softaculous.
  4. Click the List icon at the top.
  5. Click the red X next to the script you want to remove.
  6. Uncheck any of the boxes, if you want to save the directory, database or database user for future installations.
  7. Click the Remove Installation button.
  8. Click OK to confirm.

[Note: Before you click the OK button to confirm removal, you should remember that these actions can’t be reversed.]

Change Softaculous Settings & Email

For your convenience, Softaculous provides you with a number of options to modify the basic settings. You can change both Softaculous settings as well as email settings from within the cPanel of your website. The task can be accomplished in just a few clicks.

Here are the steps you’ll need to follow –

  1. Log in to your cPanel interface.
  2. Navigate to the Software/Services section.
  3. Click on the Softaculous icon to open it.
  4. Click on the Settings icon at the top.
  5. Make changes ( such as language, menu and timezone) as required.
  6. Click the Edit Settings button to save.
  7. Click the Email Settings icon at the top.
  8. Make changes (such as email address, installation emails and remove installations) as required.
  9. Click the Edit Email Settings button to save.

That’s how you can change the settings and email settings in Softaculous as per your specific requirements.

Softaculous Synchronize

The Softaculous application comes along with a lot of handy features; one of these is the synchronization feature. Whether you have scripts or web applications already installed manually or via any other auto-installer, you can sync them with Softaculous without any hassle. All it takes is just a couple of clicks, and you’re done.

Follow these steps to complete synchronization –

  1. Log in to your cPanel.
  2. Navigate to the Software/Services section.
  3. Click on the Softaculous icon.
  4. Click on the Synchronization icon (round in shape) at the top.
  5. Check the box next to the script you want to sync.
  6. Click the Sync/Import button.

In a moment, you’ll receive a message confirming that you’ve synced the script or software you wanted to sync.

Fantastico

Please follow the below steps to administer softawares installed from Fantastico with Softaculous. We are explaining here with an example how to import Joomla from Fantastico to Softaculous from within your web hosting service.

  1. Log in to CPanel.
  2. Click on ‘Softaculous’ under Software and services tab.
  3. On the top right, you can see different options for Softaculous.(see the Screenshot-1 attached)
  4. Click on the link Syncronize with other Auto installers.(Second last option with an orange icon having arrows inside)
  5. You will see the window to select the domain and the path for the application to be imported. To import all softwares, only enter the domain name.
  6. Now you will be showing with a window having all the softwares installed with Fantastico.(see the Screenshot-2 attached)
  7. Check the corresponding boxes for the softwares you want to transfer to Softaculous and click on the link ‘Sync/Import’.
  8. Please wait for the synchronization to be completed. After the syncronization is completed, click on the ‘Return to Main menu’ link.
  9. Now under current installations, you will see the imported applications and their versions.
  10. If you want to upgrade the version for the application, click on the link just a side to the current version of the application.
  11. You will be showing with a window asking for confirmation for upgrade. Click in the ‘Upgrade’ link.
  12. Wait for the upgrade to get completed. After this, click on ‘Return to overview’ to go back.
  13. Now you can see the current verison for the application as updated.

You can find the edit, delete options for the applications nearer to the application under the tab ‘Options’.

Installing WordPress using Softaculous
