Your nameservers identify the physical server that you are hosted on. If they are not set correctly then your website and email will not work. Check your welcome email; you will find the nameservers that you need (normally they will be in the format ns.nameserver.com, ns2.nameserver.com). You can check your current nameservers quickly by performing a WHOIS search.
You can change the name servers of your domain name through your Pickaweb Client Area.
1. Log in to domain management area – please use the forgotten/password reset feature if you don’t have it so it will be sent to your email.
2. When you are logged in, please click on “Domains” then select “My Domains”.
3. On the right side of the domain that you wish to update click on “manage domain” and on the next page you will then be able to update the nameservers of your domain.
[Note: Top Level Domains / US Domain Names (eg: .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info) have a domain locking feature which is a standard security feature. You can not make Nameserver changes when the domain is locked. So please untick the “Registrar Lock” first before updating the nameservers of your domain name.]
Keep in mind that nameserver changes can take up to 24 hours or more to propagate fully across the internet. During this period there may be some unpredictable behaviour with your website & email & you should be patient during this period. We recommend making nameserver changes in the evening or ideally on a Friday evening to minimise disruption to your business.
